The ACES Learning Innovation Lab is a creative, collaborative space designed for students, educators, alumni, and industry partners. It features two computer lab classrooms, an open access study and groupwork area, a high-tech interactive classroom, and a media studio. Altogether, the Lab is an ideal place to explore new ideas, experiment with emerging technologies, and engage in innovative, hands-on learning experiences.

The Computer Lab Classrooms (029 and 030) and the Learning Innovation Lab Classroom (024) can be reserved. Currently, the computer labs are open for scheduled class time and other special request reservations. For non-class use, consider visiting one of the computer labs on campus (go.illinois.edu/computer-lab) for open-access use. The student collaboration spaces are not reservable but are open to all students on a first come, first served basis during library hours.

Yes! If you’ve lost an item, please visit the ACES Academic Programs Office (Room 128, Mumford Hall) between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

No food is allowed in the ACES Learning and Innovation Lab classroom or computer labs. The only acceptable items are drinks in a closed container. Seating and vending machines are located immediately outside of the ALIL classrooms and on the first floor of LIAC.

This is a shared learning environment, and we ask all users to help care for it.

  • Furniture may be moved to support your activity or class.
  • Please return tables, chairs, and equipment to their original locations
    when you are finished.
  • Clean up after yourself, including disposing of trash and wiping down
    surfaces as needed.
  • Treat the space and furnishings with care, as you would your own
    home, dorm, or living area.

Leaving the space ready for the next group helps ensure it remains functional, welcoming, and available for everyone.

The ACES Learning Innovation Laboratory is intended for academic use by students and faculty, including courses, group work, and individual study. Reservable conference rooms, located on the first floor, are primarily designated for events.
